Custom user prompt

Understand how you can define your individual preferences via the system prompt

Updated over a week ago

As a user you might have some specific preferences when it comes to AI conversations. This could refer to the tone or style of replies or personal information that you would like the AI to consider when interacting with you.

In order to allow you to set these preferences you have the option "Custom system prompt" in your personal settings.

Note: The option to allow users to set their personal custom system prompt needs to be activated by a Administrator in the section "Behavior" first.

How to use a custom system prompt

If activated (s. note above) you find the system prompt settings by clicking on your profile in the bottom left corner and then select "Preferences".

You can simply toggle on the custom system prompt to unlock the text field

There are a couple of suggestions in form of the buttons below the text input to give you some inspiration and orientation what you could define. Of course, you can also simply type your prompt directly into the field.

As soon as your done, just click on save and the instruction will be considered for all future conversations in the Zive Chat.

What's to be considered with a custom system prompt

1. Your prompt will only be considered in the Zive Chat

Zive Assistant and Agents are usually very clearly instructed with the goal to provide high quality output for specific use cases consistently. Applying user preferences from the custom system prompt would more often cause a negative impact on the output quality. To avoid that custom prompts interfere with instructions in an assistant or agent, it's simply not applied in assistant or agent conversations.

2. Your prompt will impact all chat conversations until it's changed

Basically saying: Use this cautiously and don't forget about settings that you make here. Ideally enter preferences that you really want to be applied permanently for all conversations. For expectations in specific use cases you still have the opportunity to just communicate them in the chat directly, or build an Assistant for a recurring use cases.
