We've built Zive to work as similar as possible to the search engines you're already using in your daily life, like Google or Bing. Your search experience starts by entering a search phrase or by asking a question. Zive will automatically interpret your search and deliver highly personalized search results tailored to you.
What can be found in Zive?
Zive comes with a broad range of data connectors that pull relevant information from your company's business apps. These typically include tools like:
MS Outlook
MS Teams
MS SharePoint
MS OneDrive
Google Drive
Google Mail
Confluence
Haiilo
and many others ...
However, the actual data connected to Zive depends on your company's settings, which in turn depends on how your admins have configured the platform.
You can see the data sources that are connected to your Zive platform by starting a search on the "Everything" tab and then clicking on the "Filter" button. This will show you a menu with all connected data sources.
How to get exactly the results you need
Default smart search
A major advancement in the Zive search is the possibility to find results that don't only have a one-to-one keyword match but combine a variety of factors to deliver personalized and contextualized results.
Keyword match
Semantic match (contextual relation to the search query)
Relevance for user (based on role, team, ...)
Actuality of the content (
...
Only the combination of these aspects deliver the most relevant and best search results for the majority of search queries.
Keyword search with operators
Of course there are situations where you want to limit the results to exact keyword matches, because you are looking for something that contains a very specific word or phrase. With search operators we provide a convenient way to do exactly that.
Operator: +[Keyword]
Example: +Strategy +2025
Results: Only content items contain "Strategy" and "2025"
Explanation: Using a + before a word limits the results to those who contain the exact word. You can also use this to define multiple keywords that need to appear in the results.
Operator: -[Keyword]
Example: +Strategy -Marketing
Results: Only content items contain "Strategy" and do not contain "Marketing"
Explanation: Using a - before a word is the counterpart to the +, meaning you can define keywords that are not allowed to appear anywhere in the results. You can also combine these operators (s. example).
Operator: "[Phrase/Text]"
Example: "Marketing Strategy 2025"
Results: Only content items containing "Marketing Strategy 2025"
Explanation: Putting text in quotation marks ("...") allows you to define an entire phrase or text that has to appear in the results in exactly this order and form.
Question answering
Whenever you type a question in the search, the Zive Assistant is triggered and provides you with a precise answer in addition to the list of relevant results.
With one click you can simply continue the conversation directly in the Assistant to follow up on your initial question.
How to use filters and sorting
In addition to your search term, Zive allows you to set additional filters to break down your search results.
Quickfilter
Right below the search bar you can quickly filter for the content type you want to limit your results to. In case you know what kind of content you are looking for this can be super helpful to find what you need immediately.
Advanced filter
In the top right corner you find more filter options, e.g. the source system, the author or the timeframe of creation or last change of the content. With these you can find exactly what you are looking for, even for very broad search terms.
Sorting
Zive offers the following sorting options:
Zive Relevance: Show the most relevant results based on your user profile and preferences.
Relevance: Show the most relevant results based on content only (ignoring your personal user profile).
Latest: Show the latest results on top.
You will find the sorting button to the right of the Filter button (on mobile you will see an icon instead).
